A family-run security company, 25 years in the trade.

Pieter de Bruyn Jr and his son, Marco de Bruyn, own and run DBS Security. We've been in the security trade for 25 years, and some of our staff have been with us for 25 years or more.

Pieter and Marco handle quotes and customer care themselves. When you WhatsApp or call, you speak to one of them, and they stay your contact after the job is done. There's no call centre between you and the people who make the decisions.

A specialised technical team does the installations: electric fences, gate and garage door motors, alarms, cameras, access control and fire detection.

De Bruyn Security (Pty) Ltd is registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) under number 468853. South African law requires anyone who protects people or property, installs or repairs security equipment, or monitors alarm and camera signals for payment to be registered with PSIRA.

You don't have to take our word for it. You can check any security business on PSIRA's own website:

1. Go to psira.co.za and choose Business verification. It opens PSIRA's online search for security businesses.
2. Search by PSIRA number (ours is 468853) or by company name (De Bruyn Security).
3. Check that the name matches the company on your quote, and that it shows as registered.

Security officers can be checked the same way under Individual verification, using their PSIRA number or ID number.

In September 2026 PSIRA warned that fake or altered compliance letters had been handed to customers, and advised everyone to verify a security company's registration directly with PSIRA before appointing it. That applies to us too.

Our company registration number is 2016/268225/07.

We think about security as layers around what matters most: your family, your staff, your stock. Each layer backs up the one before it.

• Perimeter: electric fencing, gate motors and garage door motors.
• Detection: alarm systems, CCTV cameras, fire detection and biometric access control.
• Watching: 24-hour off-site monitoring of your alarm and cameras.
• People: security guards for business, estate security, VIP protection, pepper gas security and criminal background checks.

Most people start with the layer that worries them most and add the rest later. Because we handle all four, you have one company to deal with and one number to call. If what you need isn't on the list, ask. We put together tailored solutions too.

1. You tell us what you need. Use the quote form, WhatsApp Marco on 076 489 9745, or call the office on 011 768 0400.
2. Pieter or Marco gets back to you. They'll ask what they need to know, and may ask for a few photos.
3. We see the property if the job needs it. Where a site visit is needed before quoting, they'll arrange a time with you.
4. You get a quote for the layers you need, and only those. The terms are explained upfront, so you know what you're agreeing to before you say yes.

The quote is free, and asking for one doesn't commit you to anything.
